Earlier this month, Xiaomi announced the Redmi 9A entry-level smartphone in India starting at Rs 6,799 (~ $ 93). Today, the Chinese firm has unveiled the Redmi 9i phone in the country. Redmi 9i offers features similar to Redmi 9A. However, the new phone comes with more RAM and more internal storage.
Redmi 9i features a 6.53-inch IPS LCD panel with a waterdrop notch. It offers HD + resolution of 720 x 1600 and an aspect ratio of 20: 9. The smartphone is powered by the Helio G25 entry-level gaming-centric chipset.
Redmi 9i comes in 4 GB RAM and 2 storage options like 64 GB and 128 GB. Redmi 9i comes with MIUI 12 based Android 10 OS and also offers users a dedicated slot to add a microSD card slot.
The Redmi 9i has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and has a 13-megapixel rear snapper. The phone has a 5,000mAh battery. Other features include 10W charging support, dual SIM slot, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, micro USB, a 3.5mm audio jack.
Redmi 9i's 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition is priced at Rs 8,299 (~ $ 113) and Rs 9,299 (~ $ 126) in India respectively. The handset comes in color variants like Nature Green, Sea Blue and Midnight Black. The first sale of Redmi 9i will be on September 18 at 12 noon (local time) through platforms like Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Store.
