Nepal and Pakistan ahead in mobile internet speed, India laggards

India's telecom companies may pat themselves on the internet speed but it is not easy for them to accept the truth. Mobile internet is the cheapest in India as compared to the whole world, but the reality is also that India ranks 131 in terms of mobile internet speed. The neighboring countries of Pakistan and Nepal are better than India in terms of mobile internet speed.


According to a new report by Ookla, in India, the number of mobile internet speeds is 131 and in terms of broadband internet speed is 70th. The company has released this report for September 2020. According to the report, internet speed is better than India in countries like South Korea, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Pakistan.

According to a new report by Ookla, the average speed of mobile internet in India is 12.07Mbps, while the same speed is 35.26Mbps globally. The average uploading speed, not only downloading but is also 4.31Mbps in India, while the same speed is 11.22Mbps globally.


Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka rank 102, 116, and 117 respectively in Ookla Dwari released chart. The average speed of mobile data in these three countries is 17Mbps, while India is ranked 131 on the same chart. The average speed of mobile data in China is 113.35Mbps. China ranks second in this chart. South Korea ranks first with a speed of 121Mbps.


Talking about broadband, India ranks 70th in terms of speed. The average speed of broadband in India is 46.47Mbps. Singapore ranks first in terms of broadband speed with an average speed of 226.60Mbps, Hong Kong second with 210.73Mbps, and Romania third with 193.47Mbps.
