Will IPL 2021 be in India? This is a question that has been in the minds of fans for a long time. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given a major update on the matter.
BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said on Tuesday that they are trying to host bringing the IPL back to the country as it is a tournament for India. However, the BCCI will assess the situation before the final decision. IPL 2021 is scheduled to be held between March and May next year.
Ganguly said in a webinar organized by Livingyard, “We are trying a lot because it is a tournament for India. People talked about the success of IPL, I told them all that you have to live in India to see what IPL is for India.
Ganguly further said, “The domestic season will start soon. India (in 2021) is visiting England. It is very easy to have a bilateral series because the number of people is very less. When it gets to eight teams or more, it is difficult. We are trying to organize IPL in India but we have to assess the situation. Many people are talking about the second wave, I have heard that the numbers have increased in Mumbai and Delhi. So, we have to monitor it and make sure that things are in order.
