West Indies team captain Kieron Pollard won the toss and decided to bowl. Captain Temba Bavuma (46) and Reeza Hendrix (42) helped South Africa score 166 runs in the allotted 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets.
In reply, the hosts could only manage 150 runs for 9 wickets in 20 overs. Andre Fletcher scored the highest 35 runs for him. He faced 36 balls in this innings. Fabian Allen scored 34 runs in 12 balls while batting stormy.
South Africa captain Temba Bavuma scored 46 runs in 33 balls with the help of 5 fours and a six. Wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock also contributed 26 runs. For West Indies, Obed McCoy took 3 wickets and Kevin Sinclair took 2 wickets. It is worth mentioning that the first match of the series was won by West Indies.
