Tokyo Olympics: Deepak of Delhi will shine in shooting in the Olympics, once used to target with a slingshot

No one had imagined that the journey started by hitting marbles and slingshots would take Deepak Kumar to the Olympics one day, but Deepak Kumar of Jagatpur village, situated on the banks of Yamuna, has made it come true with hard work. Deepak is representing the country in the Tokyo Olympics. On Sunday, Deepak Kumar will ignite the shooting flame by participating in the 10m Air Rifle Shooting event, while the next day on July 26, he will participate in the 10m Air Pistol Mixed Team event. People's eyes are fixed on the performance of Deepak including relatives.


Deepak is posted in the Indian Air Force as a Junior Warrant Officer. Apart from the parents in the family, there is also a wife, children, and brothers. The family members are looking very happy when the son is selected for the Olympics. The entire family including Deepak's father Rajkumar, mother Babita Devi is sure that Deepak will illuminate the name of the country by winning the medal.


Deepak Kumar took his early education in a Gurukul in Delhi. After this, he went to Gurukul located in Paunda, Dehradun for higher education. It was here that he became fond of shooting.

According to relatives, Abhinav Bindra is Deepak's idol. Like Bindra, he wants to bring medals for the country. When Abhinav Bindra had brought a medal for the country, Deepak had decided at the same time that he too would one day bring a medal. Today is the day when Deepak's dream seems to be coming true.
