Sourav Chandidas Ganguly, better known as Dada, is an Indian cricket administrator, commentator, and former national cricket team captain, who is the 39th and current chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
Saurav was born on 8 July 1972 in Calcutta, West Bengal, Bengal, India to a thriving family and is the youngest son of Chandidas and Nirupa Ganguly. His father Chandidas ran a prosperous business and was considered one of the wealthiest in the city. Sourav was introduced to the cricket world by his elder brother Sneh Shah, and Sourav is considered one of India's most successful captains in modern times.
He began his career playing in state and school teams, and he was the 5th highest run-scorer in One Day International (ODI) and the 5th man in history to surpass the 10,000-run landmark.
He is only the second Indian after Sachin Tendulkar to become the sixth biggest ODI batsman after Wisden Richards, Sachin Tenuker, Brian Bara, Dean Jones, and Michael Bevan.
