Only 44 players from India will participate in the opening ceremony of Tokyo Olympics!


The Olympic Games are going to start from tomorrow in Tokyo, the capital of Japan. The opening ceremony will be held on Friday. Only 44 players will participate from India in this. According to reports, Indian Olympic Association Secretary General Rajeev Mehta has given information in this regard.

He said that due to corona infection, it has been decided to reduce the number of players and officials in the opening ceremony to 50 only. These include six officers. This time more than 125 players will participate in various events from India in Tokyo Olympics.

Legendary women's boxer MC Mary Kom and men's hockey team captain Manpreet Singh are the flag bearers of the Indian contingent. Mary Kom does not have a match on the first day while the Indian men's hockey team has to take on New Zealand. At the same time, only 30 players will participate in the opening ceremony from the UK side.
