New Zealand fast bowler Tim Southee has registered a big achievement in his name in the final of the ICC World Test Championship being played against India in Southampton.
He achieved this feat not with the ball but with the bet. Tim Southee played a vital role in giving New Zealand the lead by scoring 30 runs. He also hit two sixes in this innings. With this, he was able to overtake former Australia captain Ricky Ponting in the matter of hitting sixes in Test cricket. Tim Southee now has 75 sixes in Test cricket. While Ponting has hit only 73 sixes in his Test career.
Tim Southee is even ahead of India's great cricketer Sachin Tendulkar (69) in terms of hitting sixes in Test cricket. Now Southee will have a chance to overtake former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Dhoni has hit 78 sixes in Test cricket.
