Team India is to go on a tour of Sri Lanka in July where both teams will play the ODI and T20 series of three matches each. Former cricketer Deep Dasgupta gave a great response to the Indian team's tour of Sri Lanka. The players who are not going to tour Sri Lanka are going to England for the ICC World Test Championship and the five-match Test series against England. Among these players are cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma who will be part of the Test team. Now the regular captain of India's ODI and T20 team is Virat Kohli, while Rohit Sharma is the vice-captain who will not go to Sri Lanka, then the question arises that, who can be given the command of the Indian ODI and T20 team for this tour.

Former Indian cricketer Deep Dasgupta while talking on Sports Today said that Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and KL Rahul are not available for the tour of Sri Lanka. In such a situation, I think Shikhar Dhawan, the senior-most player in the team, can be the biggest contender for the captain. He said, I have taken the name of Shikhar Dhawan, but if Bhuvneshwar Kumar is fit then he can also be a contender for the captaincy. Let us tell you that Bhuvi IPL, while Dhawan also has experience of captaining in domestic cricket.

Deep Dasgupta, stating the reason for Bhuvi not being in the Test team, said that, his body is not able to carry the workload of Test cricket at the moment. He said that Bhuvi would have been very effective in England's condition, but he has not played Test cricket for two or two and a half years and he has been struggling for his fitness since 2018. Let us tell you that, Team India has to play ODIs against Sri Lanka on 13, 16, and 19 July, while T20 matches on 22, 24, and 27 July.
