Champion Rajasthan Royals of the first edition may have to field in the first few matches of the 13th edition of the IPL without star players like Steve Smith, Josh Butler, and Joffra Archer.
Due to six limited-overs matches played between England and Australia from September 4 to 16, these players are unlikely to play in the first week of the IPL. The IPL players who play in this series are expected to reach the UAE on 17 or 18 September.
They will then have to spend six days on segregation under the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) of the Indian Premier League. A total of 29 players from England and Australia are part of various IPL teams. The players include David Warner of Australia, Pat Cummins, and England all-rounder Ben Stokes.
It is worth noting that the 13th edition of the IPL will start from 19 September this year. Previously this tournament was to be held in India, but it has been shifted to UAE because of the coronavirus infection.
