Suresh Raina gave a major blow to the cricket fraternity when he opted out of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 due to personal reasons. The former Indian batsmen were ready for the tournament and also attended the team's one-week camp in Chennai. He flew to the UAE along with other team members, but then returned to India.
People were hopeful that they would return after taking over CSK Vice-Captain. But now it has been confirmed that he will not return as CSK has removed his name from his website.
Apart from Raina, Harbhajan Singh has also not been featured in the 'team section' on the official website. While Harbhajan was confirmed to be out of the league, everyone expected Raina to return.
Speaking to ANI last week, CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed that the team had moved on from Raina. "We (Suresh) cannot see Raina because he is not available, and we respect his decision and his position."
