Rajasthan spin bowler Rahul Chahar has been named as a standby in the Indian team for the first two matches of the Test series against England. The BCCI has announced the Indian team under the chairmanship of new selector Chetan Sharma on Tuesday.
The selection committee has included four other players KS Bharat, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Shahbaz Nadeem and Rahul Chahar as standby for the first two matches of the Test series against England.
In the event of injury of a player, these players will get a place in the Indian team.
This time five players have also been given place as net bowlers. These include Ankit Rajput, Avesh Khan, Sandeep Warrier, Krishnappa Gautam and Saurabh Kumar. Rahul Chahar has played a T20 match for the Indian team. He has also done well for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He is currently playing in the Syed Mustaq Ali T20 Trophy for Rajasthan.
