The Indian team will now have to score 324 runs on the last day to win the fourth Test match being played in Brisbane of the four-match Test series against Australia. On the fourth day of the rain-affected match, India scored four runs at no loss. The Indian team has got a target of 328 runs to win this match.
By the end of the fourth day's play, opener Rohit Sharma had scored four runs. While the second opener Shubman Gill is yet to open the account.
Earlier, India bowled Australia for 294 runs in the second innings thanks to the superb bowling of fast bowler Mohammad Siraj (five wickets) and Shardul Thakur (four wickets). In reply to Australia's first innings of 369 runs, India scored 336 runs in their first innings.
Now there is a possibility of rain on the last day of the match. If the Indian team wins this match or manages to draw, then they will retain the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, as India won the series 2–1 in the previous tour of 2018–19. In the four-match Test series, both teams are now 1-1.
