On the second day of the third Test match being played in Sydney against Australia, the openers gave the Indian team a good start. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gin shared a 70-run partnership for the first wicket. However, after this, the team has lost the wickets of both their openers on a total of 85.
Shubman Gill hit a 50-run half-century. He scored this with the help of eight fours off 101 balls. While Rohit Sharma could score only 26 runs. In this innings, he hit three fours and a six. For Australia, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins took one wicket each.
Earlier, thanks to the fatal bowling of Ravindra Jadeja, India has bowled Australia's first innings for 338 runs. Ravindra Jadeja took a maximum four wickets. Jaspreet Bumrah and Navdeep Saini took two wickets each. One wicket was taken by Mohammad Siraj. For Australia, former captain Steven Smith scored a century of 131 runs.
India is now 96-2 and trailing by 242 runs at the time of stumps.
