Punjab registered their second consecutive win in the Elite Group A in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 cricket tournament. After defeating Uttar Pradesh by 11 runs in the first match, they defeated Karnataka by nine wickets in the second match. Punjab fast bowler Siddharth Kaul scored a hat-trick in the match played against Karnataka. He took four wickets for 26 runs in this match.
In front of Siddharth Kaul's killer bowling, the Karnataka team could only manage 125 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Punjab bowler Siddharth Kaul completed his hat-trick in the 17th over, sending Rohan Kadam, Anirudh Joshi, and Abhimanyu Mithun to third, fourth, and fifth balls respectively.
For Karnataka, Rohan Kadam contributed 32 runs off 33 balls. Punjab won an easy victory by scoring 127 runs at the loss of one wicket in 14.4 overs. For him, wicketkeeper Prabhasimran Singh contributed the most unbeaten 89 runs.
