England opener Tom Benton and Pakistani batsman Mohammad Hafeez have made a quantum leap in the MRF Tires ICC Men's T20 Player Rankings with a surprise improvement. The T20 Rankings were released on Wednesday after the three-match series between England and Pakistan was 1–1.
Benton has risen 152 places in the T20 Rankings to 43rd place after scoring a total of 137 runs in this series, while Hafeez has moved from 68th to 44th in the series with 155 runs. Hafeez was the man of the series along with being the man of the match in the last match in the series.
David Malan of England has joined the top five places in the rankings after scoring 84 runs in the series. Johnny Bairstow has also moved up one place to 22nd position and is one of his career-best rankings.
Pakistan's leg-spinner Shadab Khan has moved up one place to eighth position. England's Tom Karen and Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi are joint 20th in the rankings. Karen and Shaheen took two wickets each in the series.
Karen improved by seven and Afridi improved by 14 places. The situation of Wahab Riaz and Haris Rauf has improved. Riaz has moved up 18 places to 107th and Rauf has moved up 25 places to 157th place. In the T20 ranking team rankings, Australia is in the first place, England in second place, India in third place and Pakistan in fourth place.
