Hyderabad Open badminton tournament canceled due to coronavirus epidemic


In view of the Corona epidemic, the World Badminton Federation on Thursday canceled the Hyderabad Open badminton tournament to be held from 11 to 16 August.

"The BWF and the Badminton Association of India have agreed to cancel the Hyderabad Open 2020 (11 to 16 August), a Super 100 tournament of the BWF Tour," the BWF said in a statement.

The tournament was part of the revised calendar of the BWF, which was created to restore the game after the tournament was canceled from March due to an epidemic.

BWF Secretary General Thomas Lund said, 'Circumstances are changing in some countries and territories and will continue to change and so the BWF may need to update on the status of the tournament if needed.
