Speaking about the overwhelming response received from the state member units for the formation of the Masters' Committee, Hockey India Secretary General Rajidar Singh said, "We are happy that we have got better support from the state member units who have formed their respective committee's Prominent names of Indian hockey are included.

He said, "I am convinced of his passion and effort. We will be able to develop a platform for them in the Masters' category without worrying about the age of former players. The goal of the Masters' Committee is to encourage the players to come back so that they continue to play hockey as a recreational activity and remain in love and emotional about it while keeping in touch with the sport.
