The Indian women's cricket team is currently on a tour of England. After the loss in the ODI series, the team went to play in the first T20 match on Friday night. The match could not be completed due to rain and the hosts were declared winners by 18 runs based on Duckworth-Lewis rule. Batting first, England women's team scored 177 for 7 wickets. India had got a revised target of 73 runs in 8.4 overs but the team could only manage 54 runs for 3 wickets.
The match may have been spoiled due to rain and the fun of the spectators was spoiled but one Indian player dominated the match. Harleen Deol, one of the agile fielders of the Indian team, caught such a wonderful catch on the boundary in this match that surprised everyone. During the first T20 match being played in Northampton, Harleen caught the amazing catch of Amy Jones off Shikha Pandey in 18.5 overs of England's innings. In this match, Shikha was seen as the only effective bowler from India. He took three wickets for 22 runs in 4 overs.
Ness Siever scored a brilliant half-century for England. This batsman scored 55 runs in 27 balls with the help of 8 fours and 1 six. Amy scored 43 runs off 27 balls before getting out and contributed to the team reaching the big score.
