Team India has lost in the first two ODIs on the Australian tour. Virat Kohli has once again hit the target of critics. Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir has criticized Virat Kohli, saying that he does not understand Virat's captaincy.
He termed Kohli's strategy as poor captaincy, under which Jasprit Bumrah was given two overs in the powerplay in the second ODI. Gambhir said that we are talking about taking wickets continuously, but how will the wicket get when the leading bowler is not given a chance.
Gambhir told ESPN Cricinfo, 'To be honest, I cannot understand his captaincy. We are constantly talking that we have to take as many wickets and we have to break the opponent batting line-up in the beginning, but only two overs from our important bowler. There are usually three spells of 4-3-3 overs in ODIs. Or there is a maximum of four overs. '
Gambhir added, "You removed your main bowler after two overs. How can this thing be understood? This is not T20 cricket. What you have done will be called very poor captaincy. ''
Gambhir demanded Rohit Sharma to be the captain in place of Virat Kohli in limited-overs cricket after the end of the 13th season of IPL.
