Delhi Capitals opener Shikhar Dhawan achieved a special name for himself in the Qualifier 2 match on Sunday. Dhawan played a brilliant half-century knock of 78 against Hyderabad with the help of six fours and two sixes in 50 balls.
With these 78 runs, he has become the second batsman to score 600+ for Delhi Capitals. Earlier, Rishabh Pant had scored 684 runs in 14 matches in IPL 2018.
Apart from this, he also surpassed Hitman Rohit Sharma in terms of runs in IPL. Shikhar Dhawan had his 13th season of IPL with a 41st half-century. He scored 603 runs in IPL 2020. Before 2020, Gabbar had never scored so many runs in a single edition.
Dhawan has registered 5182 runs in IPL with this 603 runs. For this, he resorted to 175 innings. At the same time, Rohit Sharma has registered 5162 runs. He has done this feat in 199 innings.
Explain that on the basis of Shikhar Dhawan's (78) half-century innings and Kagiso Rabada (4/29) deadly bowling, Delhi defeated Hyderabad by 17 runs to secure their place in the final of IPL 2020. Delhi has reached the final for the first time in the history of IPL.
Batting first after winning the toss, Delhi scored 189 runs for the loss of three wickets in 20 overs. In response, the Hyderabad team could score 172 runs losing 8 wickets. Kane Williamson scored the highest score of 67 from SRH.
