Today is the birthday of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar, who was among the world's most stormy bowlers. He was born on this day i.e. August 13, 1975, in Rawalpindi. Akhtar, who has shaken batsmen with his fast bowling in world cricket, has made many records.

He holds the record for throwing the fastest ball in cricket history. He bowled against England in 2003 at a speed of 161.3 kmph. His ball was faced by England batsman Nick Knight.

Shoaib Akhtar bowled the ball at a speed of more than 160 twice in his 13 years long international cricket. He also holds a record in batting. He is the only batsman in the world to return unbeaten in 12 consecutive ODIs. His record has not been broken to date. Shoaib Akhtar has 444 wickets in international cricket.
