Birthday Special: Andrew Symonds had hit 20 sixes in a match, still a world record!


Today is the birthday of former Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds. He was born on this day i.e. 9 June 1975 in Birmingham, England. Based on his game, he has made a special identity in international cricket.

He scored 1462 runs in 26 Tests, 5088 runs in 198 ODIs, and 337 runs in 14 T20 matches for Australia. Not only this, he has taken 24 wickets in Tests, 133 in ODIs, and eight wickets in T20.

At the age of 20 in England, Symonds hit 20 sixes in a match against Glamorgan for Gloucestershire. This is the world record for most sixes in a match in first-class cricket.

Andrew Symonds has been part of the Kangaroo team that won the World Cup in 2003 and 2007. This Australian star cricketer has also had a monkey gate dispute with Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh. He also accused Harbhajan of making racial remarks. He has also participated in IPL.
