The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian team for the 2021 tour of Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the India national cricket team in Sri Lanka. Fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been made the vice-captain.
The Indian cricket team is set to play a three-match ODI and three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka in July. The first ODI of the series will be played on July 13. The second-tier squad has been selected for the tour as the A-listers will be in England to prepare for the five-match Test series.
BCCI announces 20-man squad for Sri Lanka tour
The BCCI on Thursday announced a 20-man limited-overs squad for the limited-overs tour against Sri Lanka. A total of six new players have been included in the team, which are Devdutt Padikkal, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Krishnappa Gautam, Chetan Sakaria, Varun Chakraborty, and Nitish Rana.
Apart from a 20-man squad including Ishan Porel, Sandeep Warrier, Arshdeep Singh, Sai Kishore, Simranjit Singh, a total of 5 net bowlers have also been included for the tour.
