All-rounder Angelo Mathews (101 not out) helped Sri Lanka score 217 for the loss of four wickets in their first innings of the second Test against England in Galle.
Sri Lankan veteran Angelo Mathews has scored a century in Test cricket once a year. Earlier, he had an unbeaten 200-run knock against Zimbabwe in January last year. Mathews's 11th century in Test cricket.
Matthews is currently at the crease by scoring 101 runs in the first innings of the second Test against England on Friday. He has hit ten fours, facing 218 balls. In this Sri Lankan innings, captain Dinesh Chandimal also played a half-century innings of 52 runs.
He, along with Mathews, put on a 117-run century partnership for the fourth wicket. While opener Lahiru Thirimane contributed 43 runs. James Anderson has taken the most three wickets for England.
