The Indian Army has banned 89 apps, the Army has instructed its officers and employees to immediately remove all the apps included in the ban from their smartphones, the Army has placed apps on messaging platforms, web browsers, content sharing, gaming, etc. A ban has been imposed, which includes Facebook, TicketLock, TrueColor, Instagram, UC Browser, PUBG etc.
According to sources, there is a risk of leaking information behind this action. Sovereignty and unity are threatened by these applications. Some mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms were being misused. These apps were illegally stealing user data and sending it to the servers outside India, so ban action was necessary.
Prior to this military action, the government had banned 59 Chinese apps, including Tik Tok, in the wake of Ladakh violence, saying that the apps were a threat to India's security.
