Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January, today the 73rd Army Day of India is being celebrated. On the occasion of Army Day 2021, the entire nation remembers the valor, bravery, and sacrifice of the soldiers.



Indian Army Day is celebrated every year on 15 January in honor of Field Marshal KM Cariappa, the then Lieutenant General KM Cariappa in place of the last British Commander-in-Chief General Francis Butcher of India on this day in 1949. Cariappa commanded the Indian Army in the 1947 Indo-Pak war.

Therefore, the transfer of army power into the hands of an Indian citizen on 15 January is marked as Army Day in the country.

On this day, a salute is given to all the brave fighters who have sacrificed everything to protect the motherland and maintain the integrity of the nation.
