There is no dearth of strange things in the world. Many of us must have seen many strange things, but have you ever seen a person with three legs? By the way, nature has made every human on earth equal. Almost everyone in the world is the same except for appearance and stature. However, the body structure of some people is very unique, after seeing which one can be surprised. There is a similar story of a man living in Italy, who had not two but three legs. Yes, this is surprising, but it is absolutely true. Nature had created him in an extraordinary form and with that extraordinary form, he lived for 77 years.
Actually, the name of the person we are talking about was Francesco Frank Lentini. He was born on 18 May 1889 on the island of Sicily, Italy.
Frank Lentini was the fifth of his 12 siblings. When he was very young, his parents sent him to his uncles and aunts, where he was raised and his career started from there. You would be surprised to know that Lentini had three legs, four legs, and two genitals. His fourth leg was coming out from near the knee of his third leg. However, that leg was not fully developed.
Lentini is said to have suffered from a type of disorder in which half of his twins were attached to his body. That 'half child' was attached to his spine. Frank Lentini had to live his entire life with only three legs, four legs, and two genitals.
It's not that Frank Lentini didn't try to have his extra limbs removed, but the doctors had clearly said that if he had his extra organs removed, he could be paralyzed and permanently disabled. Because the third leg he had was very close to his spine.
At the age of 12, Frank Lentini met a man named Vincenzo Magnano, who was then the owner of a circus. He suggested Frank join the circus, which Frank liked. Soon Frank became the first choice of the audience in the circus. Despite having three legs, he had amazing agility. He used to kick a football with his third leg, which people liked very much. At the same time, she was spot-on and used to win the hearts of the audience with her answers.
At times, Frank would use his third leg as a stool and sit on it. Often people used to ask him the question, from where does he buy three-legged shoes for himself? To this Frank replies that he always buys two pairs of shoes and gives an extra shoe to his one-legged friend.
In 1907, Frank Lentini married a woman named Theresa Murray, with whom he had four children. However, both of them did not stay together for life. The two separated in 1935, after which Frank remarried a woman named Helen Shupe, and he lived with her until his death. Frank Lentini died on 21 September 1966 at the age of 77 in Tennessee, USA. He had worked in many circuses shows from Italy to America. Specifically, his show was named 'Three-Legged Football Player'.
