Chinese President Xi Jinping on Sunday said that the G-20 countries should come forward and take the lead in tackling climate change and follow the 'United Nations Framework Convention' guidelines on climate change.
He said that the G-20 countries should insist on the full and effective implementation of the Paris Agreement. In his address at the G20 Riyadh conference through a video conference on the topic 'Conservation of Earth', Jinping said, "The G20 should continue to lead by tackling climate change." He said that the 'United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change' should follow the guidelines and insist on the full and effective implementation of the Paris Agreement.
Jinping called for the G-20 countries to protect the ecosystem, showing respect for nature. He said China supports strengthening G20 cooperation in reducing land degradation and cleaning plastics from the sea. He hoped that the meeting would set goals and that steps would be taken to ensure the conservation of global biodiversity in the coming years.
