UAE Foreign Minister reviews progress of construction of first Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi


Foreign Affairs Minister of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed-al-Nahyan reviewed the progress of the first Hindu temple under construction in Abu Dhabi and spoke to representatives of the Hindu organization. The foundation stone of the temple was laid in April last year and its construction started in December.

Sheikh Abdullah also held discussions with Brahmabihari Swami of BAPS Swami Narayan Sanstha, the temple builder social and spiritual organization. UAE Indian Ambassador Pawan Kapoor was also present during this period.

Brahmabihari said, this is a unique opportunity not to preserve ancient art and architecture, but to create new art and new heritage. A golden monument of the temple was gifted to Sheikh Abdullah. Explain that the Indian community in the UAE constitutes 30 percent of the total population and the Gulf is the largest migrant community in the country.

The foundation stone of the temple was laid in April last year and construction started in December.

BAPS Hindu Temple, Abu Dhabi said in a statement that during a recent meeting in Al Ain, Sheikh Abdullah interacted with Brahmabihari Swami of BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha and inquired about the construction of the temple.
