Books from three Indian authors have been included in the list of '100 Notable Books' selected by the New York Times this year, including 'A Promised Land' by former US President Barack Obama.
The editor of the New York Times Book Review selects 100 books from around the world each year. India-born Meghna Majumdar's book 'A Burning' has also found a place in this prestigious list.
Indian writers include Deepa Anappra's 'Design Petrol on the Purple Line' in Kerala. This is the first book by journalist Deepa by profession. At the same time, Samanth Subramanian's 'A Dominant Character: The Radical Science and Restless Politics of BS Haldane' and Indian-origin British writer Hari Kunzru's 'Red Pill' have been included in this list.
