The US bans cotton, tomato imports from China's Xinjiang

The US has taken another major step against China. US Customs and Border Protection has banned the import of cotton products and tomato products produced in China's Xinjiang Uygar Autonomous Region at all US ports of entry.


The US Customs and Border Protection issued a Withhold Release Order against cotton products and tomato products produced in Xinjiang, based on information indicating the use of custody or prison labor and forced labor conditions.
