The issue of foreign donations received by Prime Minister Imran Khan's party PTI has been gaining momentum in Pakistan's politics. Opposition parties are attacking the Prime Minister. Amid this political turmoil, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is in exile in London, has launched a scathing attack on Imran.
The PML (N) supremo Nawaz has questioned the Election Commission for not taking action against Prime Minister Imran as a 'criminal'.
Nawaz criticized the Prime Minister for putting the responsibility of foreign donations to the ruling PTI on others. He asked the Election Commission, why is he not taking action against Imran in this matter?
After all, what is the reason that despite the proof, the Commission remains silent? There was a time when Imran used to say that accountability should start from him, but today he is the biggest obstacle in the path of justice.
He alleged that the Prime Minister is doing everything possible to delay the investigation. In 2018, the Election Commission formed a team to investigate and directed to submit a report in a month, but so far no report has come.
Public donations should be made public: Bilawal
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto has demanded that the foreign-funded case against Imran be made public. Bilawal said, My party will remove Imran in a constitutional and democratic way. We want to establish democratic governance in the country.
