Modi-Imran, face-to-face on the international stage for the first time, the scope of improving the relationship

On 11th December 2015, Imran Khan was on a tour of India. On that day, he met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi. In this warm-up meeting, the commitment to improve relations between India and Pakistan has been repeated. Then Imran Khan was on a tour of India as a former cricketer and also as Pakistani MP. Imran Khan invited Modi to come Pakistan.

Different things today, different platforms

After 42 months, the circumstances are different today; the conditions of both leaders are different and now the stage is different too. Now Imran Khan is the Prime Minister of Pakistan. After Balakot air strikes, Narendra Modi has emerged victorious even more by winning elections. On June 13-14, both leaders will be face-to-face in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The opportunity will be the SCO. This will be the first time when both leaders join together on an international forum

How frozen ice in their relationship will melt?

Today, the relations between the two countries are the worst in recent times that is the snow in the relationship is frozen and the terrorism that is taking place on Pakistan's land remains a hindrance for any effort to improve relations. Still Don’t know how many wounds Mumbai, Uri, Pathankot, and Pulwama have given to Pakistan and they do not have much to do in the name of Pakistani dictatorial action. In such a way, India has clarified that there will be no talks with Pakistan now without stopping terrorism.

Before Modi and Imran left for Kyrgyzstan, the government of Pakistan and Imran Khan, himself have tried three times in two weeks that India should accept the offer of talks. But now India does not seem to rely on Pakistan's double character.

Refuting any plan to meet Imran-Modi, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ravi Kumar said,

"As far as I am aware, there is no plan to hold bilateral meetings with Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan at the SCO conference of Bishkek."

Talks from Pathankot attack

The talks between the two countries have been closed since January 2016 in the terror attack on Pathankot airbase. After this Uri attack, India has made a physical strike and realized the new policy to the world. When Indian soldiers entered the PoK and destroyed terrorist bases. Then this year also, on February 14, 2019, there was another terrorist attack in Pulwama. In response, India taught Pakistan a direct lesson in aircrafts in Balakot. Both countries stood on the verge of war

But immediately after releasing Wing Commander congratulations, Pakistan succeeded in avoiding the direct action of India at the moment. But India has now declared it open that terror attacks will take place on Pakistan's terrorist bases.

Imran not being sworn in by oath

PM Modi invited Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to take oath in 2014. Later, after reaching Pakistan suddenly, PM Modi gave a chance to peace efforts by surprise everyone. But Pakistan did not get anything except terrorist attacks. After this, when the PM Modi took oath on May 30, 2019, he did not invite Imran and invited member countries of BIMSTEC to improve relations with neighboring countries and PM Modi gave a strong message to Pakistan.

After assuming power for the second time, PM Modi first visited the neighboring country Maldives and then to Sri Lanka. After that in the meeting of the SCO Other than the SCO meeting, there will be bilateral meetings with Russian President Vladimir Putin and China's President Xi Jinping and leaders of all the member countries. But India has rejected the possibility of any meeting with Pakistan's PM Imran Khan.

What is the SCO Summit, where Modi-Imran will gather all the leaders

The Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) was formed in 2001 by the presidents of Russia, China, Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan. India got membership in SCO in 2017, during which time Pakistan also got membership in this organization. For India, the SCO is a platform for increasing co-operation with the emerging countries in Asia and Soviet regions, so a good diplomatic opportunity for giving tough message to terrorism by not letting Pakistan in the presence of its partner China.
