Passengers of the country's largest airline IndiGo will now have to pay a fee to check-in at the airline's counter at the airport. The airline said in a statement that passengers will have to pay a fee of Rs 100 to check-in at the airport. It has come into effect from today.
Operators facing a cash shortage due to restrictions placed on airlines due to COVID-19 are taking various measures to increase revenue. However IndiGo has stated that it has charged over-the-counter check-in to promote web-check in. Travelers can check-in as free as before from their website or through the mobile app.
