India's Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla arrived here on a two-day visit to Nepal on Thursday. During this time he will hold wide-ranging talks on bilateral cooperation with his Nepalese counterpart and other senior leaders.
This is Shringla's first visit to Nepal at the invitation of Nepalese Foreign Secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal amidst a dispute over the border between the two countries. The Nepalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement this week, saying that high-level negotiations between the two neighboring countries are continuing.
According to the Nepalese Ministry of External Affairs, Shringla will meet his Nepalese counterpart on Thursday in which he will discuss all the issues of cooperation between Nepal and India. Shringla will also call on Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali. On Thursday, Prime Minister K.K. P. Sharma will also meet Oli and President Vidya Devi Bhandari.
On Friday, Shringla will deliver a lecture in Kathmandu and inspect three schools built with Indian assistance in Gorkha.
