Earthquake tremors were felt in Tajikistan on Saturday. According to the Tajik Emergency Situations Committee, five people have died in the quake and the magnitude of the quake is 5.9 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the quake is said to be 165 km northeast of the capital Dushanbe.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the 5.9-magnitude earthquake struck 27 km east of Rasht in Tajikistan. It was at a depth of 40 km and was also about 153 km southeast of Khujand in Tajikistan. Significantly, on July 6, earthquake tremors were felt in the country. At that time the magnitude of the earthquake was measured to be 4.0, but there was no news of any loss of life or property.
