12 children killed in Afghanistan by army airstrike, 30 killed in another blast

Afghanistan's Human Rights Commission has confirmed the deaths of 12 children in an airstrike carried out by the army in the country's northeastern province of Takhar. US Special Representative in Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad gave this information on Twitter on Sunday. He tweeted, it is a terrible accident. Unfortunately, the incident is not confined only to the Takhar province, but the Taliban in the country carry out car bombings, IEDs, and other attacks targeting ordinary civilians. The US representative said that the United States is doing everything possible to restore peace between the Afghan government and the Taliban at the earliest. Peace talks are underway in Doha, the capital of Qatar, between the two sides.
