In 2009, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and India's Home Minister Amit Shah were accused of misusing power and police machinery to illegally monitor a young woman in 2009. In 2013, the case of snoop gate spying came out in Gujarat through websites Cobrapost and Google.com. Audiotapes were released on these websites in which Amit Shah is illegally spying on a woman by the police in 2009 at the behest of Modi.
The story told by Modi Camp was that Modi's close friend Madhuri (name changed) father, had asked him to provide police protection. Madhuri and her family were being threatened and Madhuri had appealed to the inquiry Committee, that she did not have any complaint about espionage. She said that my father had then demanded protection from the government due to the threat to our lives. She confirmed that she is satisfied with the measures taken by the enquiry commission and she clearly said that whatever happened in 2009 was for their good and they have no complaints regarding it
It was only in 2013 that the matter was over and Modi's image was saved from deterioration as the matter became more serious due to the election at that time. But now both Modi and Amit Shah have cleared everything in this whole matter and Modi ji has come out clean.
