At the same time, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for cold wave in many areas of Rajasthan.
In Punjab, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Western Uttar Pradesh, and other areas of North India, the minimum temperature may fall by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next 4 days. According to the Meteorological Department, the dense fog may also prevail in these areas during this period.

According to the Meteorological Department, this would be due to cyclonic circulation off the coast of Sri Lanka over the Bay of Bengal. Due to which Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Mahe, and Kerala will receive heavy rains during this period.
