Transgender is not allowed under the current rule: NCC DG

NCC chief Lt Gen Tarun Kumar Aich has said that transgender is not allowed under the current rule. He, however, admitted that such people are needed in NCC.

It is interesting that while the Director-General of NCC was addressing the annual press conference, at the same time the Kerala High Court was hearing a petition of a transwoman against the removal of nomination from the category of transgender. Lt Gen Aich said that in NCC we work according to the rules.

When we talk of women and men, there is no such clause in the nomination of transgender in the current law. He said that although the Supreme Court in its judgment in 2014 had also said about transgender, the current law does not allow us to do this.
