Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off 100 farmers rail on Monday. In the event organized through video conferencing, these trains will leave from Sangola in Maharashtra to Shalimar in West Bengal.
These trains will have vegetables like cabbage, capsicum, chili, and onion and fruits like grapes, orange, sitaphal, pomegranate, and banana. According to the Prime Minister's Office, the stations at which the train will stop along the way will have the freedom of loading and unloading.
Also, there will be no constraint on quantity. The central government has increased subsidies on the transportation of fruits and vegetables by 50 percent.
