On Saturday, the Tamil Nadu government announced that the lockdown in the state has been extended till July 19. However, some relaxation has also been given during this period. Hotels, tea shops, bakeries, roadside shops, breakfast shops can remain open till 9 pm with 50 percent of customers. Schools, colleges, theatres, liquor model shops, swimming pools, and zoos will remain closed for now.


Giving more details about the extension of the lockdown, the administration said that restrictions on inter-state transport (except Puducherry) and social, political, cultural events will remain in force. Buses will continue to operate for Puducherry. Shops and other activities which were allowed till 8 pm will be allowed to remain open till 9 pm.


Section 144 implemented in Noida adjacent to Delhi

In Noida, adjacent to Delhi, the cases of corona have reduced. But the administration has implemented section 144 from now on so that the cases of corona do not increase in the upcoming festival. Section 144 has been imposed in Noida till August 30.
