The government today announced the launch of the Self-Employed India Employment Scheme, intending to employ those who lost employment in the Corona era.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur, while announcing the self-reliant package 3.0 here today, said that the Prime Minister's Employment Promotion Scheme was launched in March last year and now a new scheme has been started. Its benefits will be given to those whose jobs have gone to the Corona period. The scheme will be available to those registered with the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). This scheme will run till 30 June 2021.
He said that under this, such people will be benefited whose salary is less than Rs 15 thousand crore monthly and he is registered with EPFO. Under this, the government will give 24% stake of EPFO to both employees and employers in organizations with one thousand less employees, which will be for two years. The government will contribute 12 percent of the employee's share in the EPFO of those working in organizations with more than one thousand employees.
