Three more accused were taken into custody on Monday in the alleged abduction and gang-rape of two cousins in the Bhinmal police station area of Jalore district in Rajasthan. Police said that the main accused was arrested late Sunday night in connection with the incident on Saturday night.
Jalore Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh Chaudhary told 'Bhasha' that out of the four accused named by the family, the main accused was arrested late on Sunday while three other accused involved in the incident were detained and questioned Is going
Chaudhary said that one of the two victims was sent home from the hospital on Sunday and statements of both have been recorded. A medical examination of both has been done.
He said that based on the complaint made by the family, the accused are being investigated by registering a case under Section 376D (gang rape), Poxo Act, and other sections including the kidnapping of Indian Penal Code. According to the recorded case, two 14-and 15-year-old cousins sleeping in a house in a village of Bhinmal were abducted by four youths on Saturday night and taken to a deserted area and gang-raped them and then escaped.
