Passenger fares will not be increased in Rajasthan Roadways buses. Transport Minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said this while presiding over the review meeting of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation at the Government Secretariat on Friday.
Pratap Singh Khachariyawas said that this public service is definitely at a loss, yet the passenger fare of Rajasthan Roadways buses dedicated to public welfare will not be increased.
A meeting will be held soon with the officials of the Finance Department, Transport Department and Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation to strengthen the condition of roadways and run electric buses.
The Transport Minister said that the buses of Rajasthan Roadways are the face of Rajasthan. It is our main responsibility to provide safe transport facilities to the people of the state. Rajasthan Roadways buses will be operated on all routes. In the meeting, he directed to clear the roadways from losses, give one-time arrears to the retired employees, rejuvenate the bus stands and complete the budget announcements at the earliest.
He said that the process of adding 550 new buses soon is under process to further strengthen the roadways and provide transport facilities to the villages. Last year, the transport facility was increased by adding 875 new buses to the fleet of roadways.
