The Rajasthan government has decided to provide 10 kg of wheat per person and 1 kg of pulses per family free to 4.14 lakh needy families facing economic stress due to the coronavirus epidemic. In an official statement on Monday, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot approved a proposal of Rs 37.74 crore from the Chief Minister Relief Fund.
Gehlot was directed to ensure food security for those facing livelihood crises due to the coronavirus epidemic as well as those who were deprived in the previous survey due to any reason.
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, 15.36 lakh people from 4.14 lakh families were registered in the resurvey conducted by the Food and Civil Supplies Department from 22 July to 15 August.
The Chief Minister has directed these families to provide 10 kg of wheat and 1 kg of pulses per family for free.
