Big leaders like Ravi Shankar Prasad and Prakash Javadekar, who were dropped from the Modi cabinet, will be given a place in the party organization. At present, the post of general secretary has fallen vacant due to the induction of Bhupendra Yadav in the cabinet. The party's national vice president Annapurna Devi and national secretary Vishweshwar Tudu have also been made ministers.
According to party sources, BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda is going to make new appointments on these vacant places soon. Among them, Javadekar and Prasad are likely to be accommodated. He also has a long experience of working in the party organization.
While being a minister, Javadekar was in charge of elections of many states. He served as election in-charge on behalf of the party in the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Rajasthan. During the last assembly elections in Maharashtra, all the responsibility of coordination of seats with Shiv Sena was with Javadekar on behalf of the Prime Minister. Also, both Javadekar and Ravi Shankar have been spokespersons of the government.
The assembly elections of eight states to be held next year are being considered as semi-finals before the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, both of them will also fulfill the need for a BJP spokesperson. At the same time, Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, who have been out of the cabinet, can be given any responsibility in the party organization of their home state Delhi, and Uttarakhand. Assembly elections are due in Uttarakhand in February-March next year.
