In Maharashtra's Nagpur district, police busted a child trafficking gang and arrested six people, including five women allegedly involved in it, and rescued a four-year-old girl from their clutches. An official gave this information on Sunday.
Nagpur Police's Social Security Branch (SSB) took this action on Saturday. The officer said that the police had received secret information in this regard that the accused are running a child trafficking gang, after which the police decided to take action on it.
The police then approached the accused Sharmila as a wealthy couple last week and told them that they wanted to buy the child. Sharmila assured the couple that she would manage a newborn baby and got a deal for Rs 2.5 lakh. However, Sharmila later offered to give the couple a four-year-old girl at the same price, and the police later arrested them by laying a trap.
