Maharashtra: Lover throws acid on girlfriend, death of the victim, Home Minister said- 'I am looking this matter myself'


A shocking incident has emerged from the Beed district of Maharashtra. A young man from the area threw acid on his girlfriend and tried to burn her. The girlfriend later succumbed to hospital treatment. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh's statement has come about this incident. He said that the accused should be sent to the fast track court at the earliest.

Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh tweeted, 'The accused have been arrested. Instructions have been given that efforts should be made to keep the matter in the fast track court so that the culprits are punished severely. I am personally looking into this matter. '

In this regard, a police officer said that the incident took place on Saturday. However, it is not yet known why the attack took place. Police said that the woman was a resident of Shelgaon in the Nanded district of the state. She was going to her city from Pune with the accused who has been identified as Avinash Rajure (25).

During the yatra, the two stopped at a deserted place at Yalamb Ghat in the district where the accused tried to burn the woman by throwing acid on her, later pouring petrol on her, another officer of Neknur police station in Beed district said. Police said that the accused fled from the spot.

The officer said that the woman was then taken to the hospital where she died. However, police did not reveal the age of the woman who died. Officials said that a case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.
